Step 2 - Choose Insurance

All our cars come with ‘Fully Inclusive’ insurance which gives you unlimited mileage (excluding Standard SUV and Minivan, where mileage is capped to 200km/day), loss damage waiver and up to $1m third-party liability cover. Upgrade to ‘Super Fully Inclusive’ for an additional driver or ‘Additional Super Fully Inclusive’ for three additional drivers and a GPS device. -
Step 3 - Hit the road!
Once you've arrived in Canada and it's time to collect your hire car and any extras you've booked (like car seats or GPS), head to your pre-booked depot. Everything will be ready and waiting for you to start your journey. Before you set off, the helpful team at Avis will be on hand to give a demonstration and talk you through everything.

Remember that you need to be aged 21 or over and hold a valid driving license in English or French or an International Driving Permit to hire a car in Canada. Most hire car companies also request a credit card to secure the booking, so make sure you take yours with you on holiday. -

• Speed limits – These are usually 100kmph for highways and 50kmph for towns, but different provinces vary.

Although, it is exciting to see a bear, elk, moose, or deer crossing the road, don’t forget that these are wild animals. Watch for warning signs, drive slowly in such areas, and don’t get too close when you stop to take a picture. -
