Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive in Halifax
Upon arrival at Halifax Airport collect your car and make your way to your downtown hotel. The day is at leisure where you can explore Canada’s traditional gateway to the world, combining charming old wooden homes and Victorian parks with modern shopping centres. Ships, from tall ships to naval vessels, can still be seen in the harbour, and old warehouses and shipfitters’ shops have become part of the exciting boardwalk along the waterside. Overnight Halifax
Day 2 Halifax to Wolfville (240 km)
The Bay of Fundy is home to the world’s highest tides. A Mecca for migrating birds, the large tidal rivers expose broad expanses of mud banks and salt marshes at low tide; hours later they are covered with 12m of water or more! Visit Burncoat where the world’s highest tides ever were recorded. Wolfville, home to Acadia University, is an elegant small town with many fine examples of Victorian architecture. Overnight Wolfville
Day 3 Wolfville Area
A good place to observe the changes in tides and get a scenic view of the region is the look-off at Cape Blomidon (about 20 km north of Wolfville). If you wish to hike for part of the day, go to the Provincial Park, or to Scots Bay, where a day-long hike leads to Cape Split. The Wolfville and Grand Pre region is also very well known for its excellent wines. Lobster dinners, which have a long tradition in this area, can be joined at one of the tiny fishing villages along the coast. Overnight Wolfville
Day 4 Wolfville to Digby (120 km)
The Annapolis Valley is the oldest settled part of Canada and the lushest agricultural area of Eastern Canada. One of the best examples is Annapolis Royal, the oldest continuously settled town in Canada. Digby is very well known for the world’s famous scallop fleet. Overnight Digby

A ferry (included) takes you from Digby, Nova Scotia to Saint John, New Brunswick carrying you across the Bay of Fundy. Watch for whales and seabirds on the 3 hrs crossing. Visit the Old City Market or experience the Reversing Falls (located in an industrial area). Twice each day, these large, rocky rapids at the mouth of the Saint John River reverse their direction as the Bay of Fundy tides rise and force the water to run up the river. Overnight Saint John
Day 7 Saint John to Grand Manan Island (95 km)
Grand Manan Island is one of New Brunswick’s best kept treasures. Explore this small and peaceful island with its tiny fishing villages where people still make their living from scallops, lobster, salmon and seaweed gathering. Overnight Grand Manan Island

Overnight Hopewell Cape
