Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive in Calgary transfer to Banff
After your flight, board your scheduled transfer to Banff. Making your way along the Trans-Canada Highway to Banff will take you through the beautiful Kananaskis region prior to the soaring Rocky Mountains coming into view. Overnight Banff
Day 2 Banff
This little mountain town offers an array of activities, relax at the Upper Hot Springs or book the Mount Norquay Via Ferrata for a half day climbing excursion, Destination Canada's Signature Expeirience. Spend your evenings either at Wild Bill's offering heart warming Western hospitality or stay closer to home and dine at one of the Banff Springs four restaurants boasting local ingredients and offering a truly Western Canadian experience.
Day 3 Rocky Mountaineer from Banff to Kamloops
Today, board the Rocky Mountaineer to travel west. Enjoy some of the most spectacular sights in western Canada. Overnight in Kamloops
Day 4 Rocky Mountaineer from Kamloops to Vancouver
The journey leads through the “cowboy country” ranch land of British Columbia passing lush forests. Arriving in Vancouver, enjoy the rest of the day exploring, one of Canada’s most diverse cities.
Day 5 Vancouver
Surrounded by mountains and the ocean, Vancouver is a world-class city in a stunning location. Spend the day exploring the historic disctricts of Gastown and Chinatown before talking a stroll round the Stanley Park Seawall.
Day 6 Embark on Cruise
Explore more of downtown Vancouver this morning prior to embarking on your cruise from Vancouver’s Canada Place. Why not take in some shopping at Robson Street or experience Vancouver’s Flyover Canada an exhilarating 8 minute journey across Canada showcasing the iconic locations and spectacular scenery all from the comfort of your chair, feet dangling, in front of a 20-metre spherical screen!
Day 7 Inside Passage Cruising
The Inside Passage is a coastal route weaving through the islands of the Pacific Northwest. Shaped by the forces of massive glaciers millions of years ago, the Inside Passage boasts wildlife filled fjords and lush island scenery. Watch out for bald eagles, sea lions, porpoises and whales.
Day 8 Ketchikan, Alaska
Set at the Southernmost entrance to Alaska’s famed inside passage Ketchikan is known for three things: feisty salmon, idyllic scenery and an incredibly rich Alaska Native culture. Ziplining, kayaking and fishing are just some of the activities you can partake in whilst docked here.
Day 9 Juneau, Alaska
Standing on one of the largest wilderness areas in the United States, Juneau offers wildlife viewing, fishing and exploration of glaciers. Kayak up one of the areas protected waterways or try panning for gold. Trek to the majestic Mendenhall Glacier located 12 miles outside of Juneau.
Day 10 Skagway, Alaska
Famous for the discovery of gold in the 1800’s, Skagway’s charming boardwalk will take you back to the Gold Rush days. Visit Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park or the famous White Pass Railway.
Day 11 Cruising Glacier Bay
Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve is a World Heritage Site. At 33.3 million acres it showcases natural wonders and wildlife. Magnificent glaciers, mountains and fjords have made Glacier Bay one of the most spectacular settings.
Day 12 Cruising College Fjord
Scenic cruising College Fjord will bring you close to many glaciers—there’s even a spot where you can see eight at once. Your chances of watching ice thunder into the water is high, as the Prince William Sound is one of the most active areas for calving.
Day 13 Alaska Railroad Whittier to Anchorage
Disembark your cruise in Whittier. This remote village is nestled along breath-taking Prince William Sound, home to a stunning array of wildlife, including bald eagles, sea otters and killer whales, so have your camera ready. Later that day, board the Alaska Railroad for a spectacular journey to Anchorage.
Day 14 Anchorage - Vancouver
Spend the day exploring Anchorage prior to your flight to Vancouver. Lean more about Anchorage at Anchorage Museum, Alaska’s largest museum telling the story of Alaska and the north. Or visit the Alaska Native Heritage Centre showcasing Alaska’s 11 major cultures, experiencing them first hand through stories, dance and more. Overnight in Vancouver
Day 15 Vancouver
You have another full day to explore the city of Vancouver. Why not take a day trip over to the North Shore and cross the world famous Capilano Suspension Bridge, hanging 70 metres above the Capilano River.
Day 16 Fly Home
Take today to explore more of downtown Vancouver and get those last-minute souvenirs prior to your flight back to the UK.
ESTA online application for entry to the USA
Important: All cruise passengers must complete the online Visa Waiver form by visiting https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov which is needed for entry into the US at a cost of $21 per person.
You must complete an ESTA application at least 72 hours before flying. Any traveller who fails to complete an ESTA application at least 3 days before departure will almost certainly be refused entry into the country under new US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations. If you are even considering visiting the States, it's worth filling out an ESTA application now as they are valid for two years.
Important: If you are refused entry because you do not hold the correct travel documents or have had your application for ESTA rejected - you will NOT be entitled to any form of refund or covered by your travel insurance policy.
