Lake Louise itself offers plenty to keep you occupied during your stay, from horse riding, cycling and hiking to canoeing, rafting and fishing.
Take an easy wander along the shore of the lake, or carry on and tackle the more taxing Plain of Six Glaciers hike – at over 10km it’s not a stroll, but the reward is one of the most scenic hikes in the Canadian Rockies. In fact it’s worth hiking just for the gorgeous rustic Tea House you find at the top.
If you are craving shopping and bustle, lively Banff town is just a 45 minute drive away.
