In the area
The Fairmont Empress is a short walk from the excellent shopping on Government Street, and its side streets also offer a great variety of boutiques and shops. A little further up is Bastion Square, a lively square lined with shops and restaurants, and home to the Festival of the Arts, a large arts & crafts market.
The hotel is also just steps from the Royal BC Museum, an intriguing place to explore with many changing exhibitions.
