The Fairmont Empress is grand and elegant throughout and has a great location in downtown Victoria.
Rooms and suites are luxurious and traditionally furnished, and some offer lovely views of the harbour.
The hotel has a stately indoor pool and spa bath, well-equipped fitness centre and two saunas, as well as the Willow Stream Spa, a tranquil haven where mobile phones are barred.
Sit outside at The Veranda and enjoy an afternoon Martini, overlooking the picturesque Inner Harbour, head to The Empress Room for an opulent fine dining experience, or sample the delicious curry buffet at the colonial style Bengal Lounge, you may find it hard to decide.

In the area
The Fairmont Empress is a short walk from the excellent shopping on Government Street, and its side streets also offer a great variety of boutiques and shops. A little further up is Bastion Square, a lively square lined with shops and restaurants, and home to the Festival of the Arts, a large arts & crafts market.
The hotel is also just steps from the Royal BC Museum, an intriguing place to explore with many changing exhibitions.
Just beyond the museum you can spend a pleasant afternoon strolling through the beautiful wildflower slopes and contrasting manicured flowerbeds of Beacon Hill Park.
