Top Tip 1

• Miles of untouched coastline are waiting to be explored along the Bay of Fundy. This breathtaking destination is well-known for its incredible tides which experience some of the highest changes in the world. These are best explored at the Hopewell Rocks where you can walk around the famous “flowerpot rocks” at low tide then watch them disappear before you kayak in over 50 feet of seawater just a few hours later.

• Whilst high tides at the Bay of Fundy are remarkable, there are plenty of other things to do along this beautiful coast. The Bay is the feeding ground for over 12 species of whales which are attracted to the marine animals which populate the area. Embark on a daytime adventure and watch out for these incredible The Finback and Minke whales, the most endangered in the world. Don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled for other animals too - bald eagles, harbour seals and porpoise are just a few of the creatures that you will see around the area.

• Enjoy a Shediac Lobster Tour! One for the seafood lovers, you can take a cruise out on the Atlantic to learn all about the coveted crustacean and how it is locally harvested. • A visit to Grand Manan Island in the Bay of Fundy is also a must. The largest of the Fundy Isles – its natural beauty attracts artists, photographers and geologists throughout the year. • Hike among more than 25 waterfalls in Fundy National Park or sit quietly and watch colourful fishing boats come and go all day long before relaxing in a heated saltwater swimming pool. Charming towns are never far from New Brunswick’s unspoilt wilderness, so be sure to walk 15 minutes outside of Fundy National Park to the small town of Alma and stop for a mouth-watering dessert at Kelly’s Bake Shop.

Whilst most people will only ever dream of seeing a wild black bear, these appealing creatures are common in Acadieville, a small rural community in Kouchibouguac National Park. • St Andrews By-The-Sea is one of New Brunswick’s most popular towns and offers a unique shopping experience. As you approach Prince William Street, enjoy a well-deserved break in Kingsbrae Garden – a 27-acre horticultural masterpiece which is recognised as one of Canada’s top ten public gardens.
